Location
Ventana is located on Highway One in Big Sur, 28 miles south of Carmel. The Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY) is 35 miles north in Monterey, and features four carriers with more than 40 daily flights to and from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake and Las Vegas. San Jose International Airport (SJC) is 106 miles to the north, while San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is 150 miles to the north.
Facilities
The Coast House, The Library and The Gallery, ranging in size from 380 to 740 square feet, respectively, can accommodate small meeting groups from 2 to 50 people. The three facilities can also host small receptions, lunches and dinners, from 20 to 50 people, while the two Terraces (Upper and Lower) provide larger spaces for receptions, lunches and dinners. The Upper Terrace, at 3,000 square feet, can seat as many as 120 people, while the Lower Terrace accommodates 80 people in a 3,600-square-foot venue. The Fireside, a semi-private room, is equipped to handle smaller and more intimate events of up to 40 people.
Catering Services
Ventana’s catering department works closely with its clients to design a menu and theme to perfectly match event expectations.
Weddings
Two terraces specifically designed for wedding ceremonies, plus an additional intimate site offer three ideal locations for creating lifelong memories at Ventana Inn & Spa.
Accommodations
Ventana Inn & Spa opened in 1975, and includes 60 spacious rooms and suites, each with private balcony or patio and either valley, mountain or distant ocean views. Most rooms and suites have fireplaces.
Dining
The Restaurant at Ventana, the resort’s award winning restaurant, is located one-eighth mile from the Inn via a level, wooded path. The Restaurant affords panoramic, 50-mile ocean vistas from its terraces and has a cocktail lounge with fireplace and is open for lunch and dinner.
Breakfast and in-room dining are serviced from the intimate Ventana Bistro located at the Inn.
Spa & Fitness
The Spa at Ventana embraces the magical “Essence of Big Sur” through the use of natures healing gifts. All treatments are designed to relax and nurture the body and spirit, and rejuvenate and revitalize subtle energies. Practitioners are dedicated to providing a sensory experience that offers relaxation and connection where one can find inner peace and sanctity.
The property’s fitness facility features state-of-the-art equipment, including treadmills, stationery bikes, elliptical cross trainers and rowers, plus free weights. In addition, guests enjoy access to two pools, one of which is clothing optional, featuring Japanese hot baths, showers, relaxation decks and dry sauna.
